Faculty-in-Residence

In 2019-2020 school year, the Center for Design and Material Culture (CDMC) piloted a Faculty-in-Residence Program. In this exciting new program, UW faculty members will engage in substantial projects with the CDMC team, particularly around classes, exhibitions and programs.

Our first Faculty Member in Residence is Professor Wei Dong in Design Studies. As a part of his residency, Prof. Dong curated Harmony and Evolution: An Exhibition of the Chinese American Art Faculty Association in the Ruth Davis Design Gallery. Prof. Dong is also developing related programming around making, wellness, and mindfulness in collaboration with the Chipstone Foundation, tentatively scheduled for the 2020-2021 school year.
