Are you seeking a way to give back to the community while exploring your creativity? Look no further than “Knit for a Cause,” the student-led group based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison that uses the power of knitting and crocheting to make a difference. From hats and scarves to cozy blankets, members of this group gather regularly to create handmade items that are then donated to local charities, hospitals, and organizations in need.

“Knit for a Cause” welcomes individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced knitters, and provides a supportive environment where members can share tips and techniques while building friendships. Bring your own supplies to work at your own pace or use the provided materials.  Enjoy some snacks and beverages while you knit!

And now, the Center for Design and Material Culture (CDMC) at UW-Madison is teaming up with “Knit for a Cause” to host an event that leverages the creativity and skills of the university community to address a specific social or environmental issue through knitting. Join us for this exciting event and use your crafting skills for good!
