In celebration of the 175th anniversary of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, on view in the School of Human Ecology are three shining examples from Madison music history. Stop by the School of Human Ecology in Nancy Nicholas Hall and view a display of concert jackets from former Director of Bands Mike Leckrone. Created by Lois Levenhagen, these performance jackets were worn by Leckrone during three of the the Annual Varsity Band Spring Concerts. Starting in 1975, the annual concert now hosts nearly 10,000 people annually for a music spectacular featuring colorful lighting, large-scale projections, pyrotechnics, explosions, circus acts, and more. Through every sequin, stitch, and patch, these jackets shine with a spirit and dedication to excellence that can be found across the UW–Madison campus and throughout its 175 years of service to Wisconsin.

This display is located in the main lobby of Nancy Nicholas Hall in the window of the Ruth Davis Design Gallery. This display will now end on June 4th.  Support for this display comes from the Anonymous Fund.
