Oneida Community Day

The Oneida Community Library & Green Earth Branch Library, Oneida Nation Museum, and the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection at UW-Madison are partnering to host a Textile Community Day on June 6 from 10:30am-6pm at the Community Education Center. Community members can bring in a textile from home (a family heirloom or treasured keepsake) to share with staff and fellow community members. Textile staff will be on hand to discuss at home textile preservation and care strategies as well as help participants pack their textiles in archival boxes (all archival materials are provided free by the event). Participants can sign up for a 30-minute appointment slot to discuss their specific textile and care questions, but anyone is encouraged to attend at any time throughout the day to join in the storytelling, sharing, and learning.
