Sarah Anne Carter, Ph.D. is the Executive Director, Center for Design & Material Culture and an Associate Professor in Design Studies at the School of Human Ecology at UW–Madison. She writes and teaches about material culture and museums.  Prior to joining the School of Human Ecology, Carter was the Curator and Director of Research at the Chipstone Foundation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
