John Hitchcock and Alvaro Torres will give a special performance on electric guitar and lap steel in conjunction with their collaborative art piece featured in the Intercambios: Art, Stories, & Comunidad.
John Hitchcock is an Artist, Professor of Art, Department Chair of Theatre and Drama, and Associate Dean of Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition, Professor Hitchcock has served as Faculty Director of The Studio Learning Community and Art Department Graduate Chair. He is an award-winning artist who uses the print medium to explore relationships of community, land, and culture.
Alvaro Torres is a musician from Oaxaca, Mexico. He is the author of the album “Dibujando Planetas” and plays jazz, blues, and rock, amongst other genres.
This is hosted in conjunction with Intercambios: Art, Stories, & Comunidad on view January 19-April 10, 2022 in the Ruth Davis Design Gallery. This exhibition was developed with generous support from the Anonymous Fund, the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, and Latin American Caribbean and Iberian Studies.
