Textiles x Insects Panel Conversation and Lunch

Nancy Nicholas Hall
@ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

How scientifically accurate are the butterflies and moths depicted by the textiles on view in Afterlives? What do butterfly boxes tell us about the intersections of art, science, design, and decoration? What do insect collection managers and textile collection managers have in common?

Join us for a panel discussion with UW-Madison staff and faculty, who will discuss the intersections of textiles and insects in their collections management and art practices.

Jennifer Angus, Professor of Design Studies
Carolyn H. Jenkinson, Collections Manager, Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection
Daniel K. Young, Professor of Entomology and Director, UW Insect Research Collection (WIRC)

Lunch will be served. Space is limited, registration is required.
